What You Will Be Doing

As part of a significant transformation of the People & Culture function, NSLHD has reimagined how it supports leaders, employees and services across the District. We are seeking an exceptional people leader to join our senior leadership team as Director, People Experience & Capability, a newly evolved role designed to lead the strategic integration of workforce capability, leadership development, organisational culture, employee experience and change.

This is far more than a traditional organisational development or learning role. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, People & Culture, and working alongside the Director, HR Business Partners and a team of passionate HR professionals, you will lead the strategic design and delivery of initiatives that strengthen workforce capability, leadership effectiveness, employee engagement and organisational culture across the District.

About You

You are an accomplished People & Culture leader with demonstrated success leading workforce capability, organisational development and culture initiatives in large, complex organisations.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Learning and Development or a related discipline and/or significant experience in similar senior leadership role. 

 People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

  1. Extensive experience leading workforce capability, organisational development, culture and employee experience initiatives within a large and complex organisation.
  2. Demonstrated success developing and implementing workforce, leadership and talent strategies that deliver measurable organisational outcomes.
  3. Proven ability to influence executive leaders and diverse stakeholders to drive workforce transformation, engagement and organisational performance.
  4. Significant experience leading enterprise-wide change management, organisational reform and workforce transformation programs.
  5. Demonstrated success leading, developing and inspiring high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
  6. Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience using workforce data and employee insights to inform strategy and decision-making.
