MHDA Directorate, Macquarie Hospital

What you'll be doing
Strategic Direction:

Develop and implement strategic, operational, and annual plans for all allocated portfolios.
Contribute to strategic and operational planning processes and provide strategic professional leadership, collaboration, consultation and advice on the implementation of strategies and plans, including the MHDA Operational, Workforce, and Service Plans. Develop and implement the MHDA Allied Health Framework, with ongoing evaluation and realignment to remain contemporaneous. Collaborate and consult with the NSLHD Director Allied Health to facilitate a strategic coordinated approach to the implementation of Allied Health initiatives. 
Leadership and Management:
Manage staff including performance development, training, and supervision. Develop and implement a professional framework for MHDA Allied Health considering industry leading practice within a multidisciplinary teamwork environment. Engage in the development, implementation, and leadership of financial strategies to meet the budgetary and financial goals of NSLHD and MHDA. Manage performance, budgets and activity based funding including relevant reporting to the Ministry of Health. Implement processes to review and report on performance indicators including internal/external benchmarking and effectively address negative variance. Provide professional leadership and strategy for the development of contemporary service models, care pathways and scopes of practice. Lead a culture of innovation and improvement and actively pursue new opportunities aligned with MHDA and NSLHD strategic direction.

Quality and Risk:
Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, professional standards and Codes of Practice. Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of models of care. Implement risk management that ensure accountability for practice and safety, identification and management of risks and use of the NSLHD enterprise risk management platform. Utilise measurement and reporting systems to provide data to inform decisions and enable continuous improvement. Oversee implementation and compliance with relevant National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. Actively participate as a leader in accreditation processes.

Workforce:
Utilise contemporary HR management practice principles. Monitor Allied Health professionals with professional supervision, continuous professional development, credentialing and regulatory requirements. Foster partnerships and implement strategies for career pathways, improve workforce capabilities, encourage re-entry into Allied Health disciplines and recognise and acknowledge staff contributions and achievements

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Allied Health tertiary qualification and post graduate qualification in management or relevant clinical field.
  2. Ability to provide and demonstrate effective executive level leadership and to work as part of an executive team with a proven commitment to performance based culture.
  3. Demonstrated ability to forge collaborative and productive partnerships with senior colleagues and develop networks and partnerships both internal and external to the organisation.
