What you'll be doing
The Deputy Director of Nursing participates in the management of nursing services across a 195 bed Hospital site, providing professional and operational support to the Director of Nursing Macquarie Hospital.
The role is a senior nursing position working in collaboration with nurse managers across Macquarie Hospital. The focus of the role will be to support the operational and clinical service of Macquarie Hospital and provide nursing leadership across nursing clinical practice, Finance, Person Centred Care, workforce management and ACSQHC Standards.
The position will be part of the Macquarie Hospital On Call roster.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current AHPRA Registration with authority to practice as a Registered Nurse, Division 1, with appropriate tertiary management qualifications or equivalent experience or a combination of study and experience.
- Proven record to lead a senior nursing team to work successfully with other professional and disciplines in the management of health care services, cultural change including strategic planning, service development and project management through implementation and evaluation.
- Extensive clinical and management experience across diverse mental health clinical settings leading and managing a large nursing workforce supporting recovery orientated practice, financial and operational services performance indicators.
- Knowledge and understanding of Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO) Legislation, Industrial Awards and Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence.
