About Your Role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Patient Flow and Virtual Nurse is responsible for provision of high level patient centred, evidence based clinical nursing care and is expected to embrace and lead a practice development philosophy in the delivery of that care. This is achieved under the provision of five (5) domains, those being clinical service and consultancy, clinical leadership, education, research and clinical services planning & management.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Patient Flow and Virtual Nurse will work within MLHD Patient Flow and Transport Unit to provide clinicians with high level clinical support and advice on appropriate treatment and access to specialist referral pathways as required.

Provide support and guidance of clinical nursing care. This consultancy is to be provided through a virtual modality providing recommendations to facilitate safe patient care progression and timely outcomes. Liaising with Critical Care Advisory Services and RMCS.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Patient Flow and Virtual Nurse is responsible for facilitating and coordinating all interfacility transfers during operational hours. 

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Patient Flow and Virtual Nurse will work closely with the  Patient Flow and Transport Unit to determine the mode of transport required and act as a clinical resource for the  Patient Flow and Transport Unit.
