Clinical Dietitian
The senior Renal Dietitian provides nutritional care to patients in the dialysis unit, renal clinics, outpatient services and may include inpatients.

What you'll be doing
The Senior Clinical Dietitian provides a high quality Nutrition and Dietetics service to allocated clinical areas. The Senior Clinical Dietitian provides supervision to junior and support staff. As a key member of the healthcare team, the Senior Clinical Dietitian is an advocate for nutrition services. The Senior Clinical Dietitian is active in maintaining standards of quality nutritional care, education and consultancy for patients, staff and the wider community. The Senior Clinical Dietitian is involved in planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on services. The Senior Clinical Dietitian will identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice, as well as develop and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff. Nutritional care involves assessment, provision of an appropriate nutrition care plan, monitoring, discharge planning, transfer of care and education for patients and carers.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia. Evidence of extensive clinical experience with a minimum as a Level 2 Dietitian.
- Extensive experience in the nutritional management of patients with complex renal disease.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process. Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, level 1/2 Allied Health Professionals and/or Allied Health Assistants.
- Demonstrated proficient skills and knowledge in the provision of current Nutrition & Dietetic practice. A strong commitment to an evidence-based service to provide for consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, case management, intervention, appropriate referral and discharge planning.
- Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. Have the ability to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement.
