Work with an award-winning team to lead a new program of work focused on climate adaptation and building resilience to climate hazards within the health sector. You will work with university partners, health staff, and local community organisations to conduct research and deliver strategies that reduce climate and health risks.

What you'll be doing
The Climate Adaptation Manager will coordinate and implement the district’s efforts related to climate adaptation and climate risk, ensuring it meets its regulatory requirements. The position will manage the district’s mandatory annual climate-related financial disclosures reporting, climate risk management frameworks, and lead the implementation of adaptation research and solutions to strengthen NSLHD’s resilience to climate change and reduce the impact of future climate-related events. 

The position will work within the Planetary Health team and report to the Manager of Planetary Health NSLHD. 
This is a 12-month temporary maternity leave contract.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, climate or disaster risk management, or public health and or/demonstrated experience leading climate adaption risk and resilience planning within a complex organisation.
  2. Experience working with senior executives, clinicians, and researchers to deliver change and committed to establishing and maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships for stakeholder engagement.
