Royal North Shore Hospital's Colorectal Surgery, Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery and Gastroenterology Ward 8B, is looking for Assistants in Nursing to join their dynamic nursing team.
Ward 8B has a strong focus on multidisciplinary teamwork, with cross referrals between the physicians and surgeons, and daily team meetings. The Ward is supported by enthusiastic nursing staff, a variety of allied health professionals, Clinical Nurse Consultants for Stomal Therapy and Total Parenteral Nutrition, and a Ward Based Clinical Nurse Educator. The senior staff on Ward 8B includes Clinical Nurse Specialists. Staff are provided with a supportive environment and are encouraged to extend their skills. We also provide a Structured Orientation and Preceptorship program. A Stomal Therapy Certificate course is offered through the NSW College of Nursing.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in second or third year of a Bachelor of Nursing or degree deemed appropriate; or current enrolment in Diploma of Nursing (HLT54121) with evidence of completion of Block 1; or completion of HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care).
- Demonstrated, effective written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
