What you'll be doing
An Allied Health Assistant (AHA) works under direct, indirect or remote supervision and direction of an Allied Health Professional (AHP) to perform clinical and non-clinical duties. Clinical duties may include therapeutic and program related activities and the identification and reporting of changes in the client’s condition. The Allied Health Assistant may be engaged to work in a discipline specific area or assist in the delivery of allied health services across a multi-disciplinary team.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Level 1 and 2 must hold a minimum of a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or willingness to undertake this training or other qualification deemed equivalent by NSLHD. Level 3 must hold a certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or other qualification deemed equivalent by NSLHD.
- Identify skills and knowledge in the provision of assistant's activities to provide support for, AHPs, clients, families and carers as required.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising AHP.
- Ability to work independently under the delegation of an AHP and the ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.
