What you'll be doing
This position coordinates Speech Pathology services to the stroke unit/neuro inpatients, rehabilitation ward and neuro outpatients. They are the primary clinician for the stroke unit and will assist on the rehab ward when the Speech Pathology caseload is heavy. The position also maintains a moderate outpatient neuro caseload, including the monthly Parkinson’s disease clinic. The position is responsible for coordinating the VFSS service, as well as supervising and supporting Level ½ staff and an Allied Health Assistant position.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- A bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia. Evidence of extensive clinical experience, inclusive of experience as a Level 2 Speech Pathologist or equivalent.
- Experience in leadership and/or supervision of Speech Pathology staff, Allied Health Assistants or Speech Pathology students.
- Demonstrated knowledge and clinical skill with a neurology caseload in acute, rehabilitation and outpatient settings. Experience with instrumental assessment, including VFSS and/or FEES.
- A high standard of verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to liaise with novice and experienced health professionals, in addition to external service providers.
