What you'll be doing
The Senior Clinician with Education Tasks is an integral part of the Aged Care Assessment Services (ACAS) team, providing clinical leadership and high-quality services to consumers of the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) as well as providing education to clinical and non-clinical assessors for efficient and effective service delivery.
The role is currently based with the intake team at the Macquarie Hospital site however as the role’s purpose is to contribute to a district-wide service, the role may require some flexibility regarding the location.
The role may be requested by the Line Manager to contribute to intake, scheduling, triaging, delegating and other tasks to support the efficient operation of the service.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
- A bachelor or post graduate degree in Allied Health or Nursing with Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Nursing, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist) or eligibility for membership with the peak professional association (Social Workers). For Nursing with at least 3 years' experience working with frail older consumers and those with chronic illness in an ACAS role or other relevant experience deemed appropriate. For Allied Health, extensive specialist or broad generalist knowledge working with frail older consumers and those with chronic illness in an ACAS role and minimum experience at Level 2.
- Extensive experience in providing supervision or education to clinical and non-clinical staff and identifying opportunities to promote peer support for non-clinical staff.
- Demonstrated experience in leading ongoing quality improvement activities, high level problem solving and project management skills.
