An exciting temporary role exists for Rehabilitation Coordinator join the Mental Health Rehabilitation Program Team at Macquarie Hospital
The Rehabilitation Coordinator is part of a team leading a service wide approach to the provision of rehabilitation opportunities at Macquarie Hospital.

Where you'll be working
Macquarie Hospital Rehabilitation Day Program and Mental Health Consumer Homeless Intensive Rehabilitation Program

What you'll be doing
As an integral part of the hospital Rehabilitation team, the Rehabilitation Coordinator will p rovide leadership and expert advice within the service in regard to clinical rehabilitation. The role will provide and coordinate clinical rehabilitation services that promote recovery and reduce functional decline associated with severe and enduring mental health diagnoses, utilising a range of targeted evidence-based interventions. The Rehabilitation Coordinator is part of a team leading a service wide approach to the provision of rehabilitation opportunities at Macquarie Hospital. The position works across the service supporting clinical teams to ensure that evidenced informed/based rehabilitation opportunities, within a clearly defined model of care, are available for all consumers either through individual or group rehabilitation programs.

Hospital wide rehabilitation will provide adaptable, focused opportunities that are within the capacity of the consumer and support their  return to a meaningful life in the community.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:


 

  1. Qualification recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and demonstrated experience as an Occupational Therapist Level 2 or above.
  2. Demonstrate ability to lead clinical work, expert assessment and intervention under the trauma inform and recovery frameworks for people living with complex severe mental illness and substance disorder.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in quality improvement project, research and development of evidence-based program for mental health rehabilitation service.
