The Hornsby Child Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) team are seeking an experienced Health Clinician with experience working with young people and their families who experience serious mental health problems and requires filling the health clinician role. This role works as part of the Hornsby CYMHS intake team in providing triage, community assessments, consultation with key stakeholders and in reach into the Emergency Department.

This Health Clinician Level 4 role is a Permanent Full Time amalgamated position consisting of 2 part time positions (0.42 FTE and 0.58 FTE). The successful applicant will be employed in both roles for permanent contract.

Allied Health Professional Level 4: $2,331.57 - $2,388.09 

Clinical Psychologist: $2,093.71 - $2,551.93 

Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1: $2,428.60 - $2,478.30

What you'll be doing

This role is a key part of a collaborative team in supporting access to appropriate and timely care for young people and families when there are serious mental health concerns.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience as per clinical discipline and current full AHPRA registration (or eligibility for membership of AASW for Social Workers). Social Work / Occupational Therapy requires experience as a level 2 clinician. Clinical Nurse Consultant will have at least 5 years full -time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full-time equivalent in mental health and approved post graduate qualifications or substantial relevant clinical experience within this setting. Clinical Psychologist will have a postgraduate Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an APAC accredited University.
  2. Demonstrated ability to provide expert clinical consultancy, networking and communicating across a range of key internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Demonstrated senior clinical leadership skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and capacity to act as an independent consultant with excellent communication, interpersonal and
    negotiation skills.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to strengths-based practice and recovery focused care as well as consumer and carer participation and consultation.
