Cardiac Nurses - an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical leadership skills in the role of Clinical Nurse Consultant at Royal North Shore Hospital. The position is temporary part time14hrs per week in a job share arrangement.

The Cardiology CNC is an expert clinical leader, providing advice, recommendations, and education to staff regarding all aspects of cardiology nursing care. The CNC liaises with the patient flow team to optimise the flow of patients requiring cardiac monitoring, overseas care of patients in the Coronary Care Unit and acts as a resource person for the management of cardiology patients at RNSH.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Registered with Authority to Practice with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Minimum five years full time post graduate experience with 3 years full time equivalent in the specialty field. In addition the applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification (minimum Grad Diploma/Certificate level) or evidence of working towards Masters level qualification.
  2. Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
  3. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework.
  4. Demonstrated ability to undertake quality improvement and research activities that influence and enhance clinical practice and implement change.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
