Remuneration$278,355 to $376,068 per annum full time equivalent depending on experience, additional temporary allowances are paid where applicable

About the role
 

NNSWLHD MHAOD is seeking a Specialist Psychiatrist to provide leadership and clinical governance in relation to clinical service delivery of the Adult Mental Health services ensuring clinical practice is in accordance with National and Statewide standards and legislative frameworks. 
 

As a Visiting Medical Officer you may be eligible for a range of financial benefits on appointment to a regional Hospital.  Further information may be found in: Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Fee-For-Service Contracts) Determination​ and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination

 

As a Staff Specialist you may also benefit from potential tax savings by salary packaging living expenses, vehicle leasing, meal entertainment and relocation costs.

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists
  2. Sophisticated working knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act and demonstrated experience of its application in mental health practice
  3. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage people effectively
  4. Demonstrated ability to work collaborative and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  5. Demonstrated highly developed communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement initiatives
  7. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
  8. Valid unrestricted driver’s licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment
