Position Classification: Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer 
Staff Specialist Remuneration: $262,376 to $354,479 per annum full time equivalent depending on experience (Staff Specialist)
VMO Remuneration: As per current applicable NSW Health VMO Remuneration rates
Hours Per Week: Up to 40hrs per week

Providing contemporary, comprehensive recovery focused, Specialist Addiction services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care.
 
Providing clinical leadership, participating in quality improvement activities and providing training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Addiction Medicine, and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways
  2. Approved opioid pharmacotherapies prescriber with a proven track record of achievement in the development and management of alcohol and other drugs services in response to clinical demands
  3. Sound knowledge and understanding of Commonwealth and State policy in alcohol and other drugs, including understanding clinical governance and a commitment to patient safety and innovation
  4. Demonstrated ability in providing clinical leadership and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  5. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and organisational skills
  6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and professional training, research and quality improvement in a public AOD setting
  7. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and respond on site within a reasonable time
  8. Valid unrestricted driver licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment
