About the role
The Clarence Valley Network is seeking qualified General Practitioners to provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist General Practitioner services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care.
Participate in quality improvement activities as well as providing training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

With a population of approximately 51,300 the Clarence Valley has a well-established health care infrastructure and a strong network of community services to support your career needs. The Clarence River provides the lifeblood of this picturesque region, connecting the regional centre of Grafton with the historic township of Maclean and the stunning seaside towns of Iluka and Yamba.
Maclean District Hospital is a community level 3 rural facility within Clarence Health Service, providing care to over 1,700 inpatients annually. The hospital sees over 14500 Emergency presentations annually. Maclean District Hospital, Sub-Acute and Rehabilitation Unit is a 10-bed inpatient facility providing rehabilitation services to the Clarence Valley community. Patients in the Rehabilitation Unit are cared for by a multi-disciplinary team of medical, nursing and Allied Health practitioners including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Social Work. The Rehabilitation Unit offers a fully equipped therapy gym, dining room, kitchen and courtyard garden for group activities and individual rehabilitation programs.

Essential Criteria
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways, and/or eligible for General registration with the Medical Board of Australia and have appropriate skills and training assessed by the Local Health District to provide specialist General Practice services.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Practice at the role delineation of the service.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
