About the role
Northern NSW Health is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Medical Physics Registrar to join our team, based at Tweed Valley Hospital. The successful applicant will be enrolled into the Training, Education and Assessment Program (TEAP) through the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM).
The position is annually renewed for the duration specified to the candidate by ACPSEM. This is usually 3 years for new TEAP candidates who hold an ACPSEM accredited postgraduate qualifications (MSc or PhD).
The purpose of the role is to undertake training aimed at attaining registration as a Radiation Oncology Medical Physics Specialist. The registrar will be expected to work as part of a small team of radiation oncology physicists and be fully involved in all aspects of providing a clinical radiation oncology medical physics service. This includes routine QA and commissioning of linacs and other equipment, treatment plan checking, in-vivo dosimetry, research projects, relevant departmental clinical meetings, radiation safety duties and fostering a multi-disciplinary culture of clinical service delivery and research.
