About the role
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADoN) is a key nursing leadership role at Tweed Valley Hospital, working in partnership with the Director of Nursing and Midwifery to provide strategic and operational leadership across the Surgical, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Anaesthetics directorates.
The ADoN is responsible for the effective clinical and operational management of nursing and midwifery services, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care that aligns with professional standards, organisational priorities and contemporary models of care.
As a member of the Tweed Valley Hospital Executive Leadership Team, the ADoN plays an integral role in shaping clinical services, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.
This role champions clinician engagement, recognising that strong clinical leadership is fundamental to delivering outstanding patient outcomes. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the ADoN will support the planning, delivery, evaluation and ongoing improvement of health services, while strengthening nursing and midwifery leadership across the hospital.
