Nepean Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Midwife to join our Clinical Trials team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative research while maintaining a strong focus on safe, patient‑centred Midwifery care. 

The Registered Midwife – Clinical Trials supports the planning, coordination and delivery of clinical research studies within Maternity services. Working closely with Obstetric, Midwifery, Research and Multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure clinical trials are conducted safely, ethically and in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.

This position combines clinical expertise with research coordination and provides the opportunity to be involved in improving outcomes for women and families through evidence‑based practice. This is a role that will see you coordinate and deliver clinical trial protocols in line with ethics, governance and regulatory requirements, accurately collect, document and manage clinical and research data, liaise with Investigators, Clinicians, Research stakeholders, monitor participant safety and report adverse events as required. 

You will bring to the role sound knowledge of ethical and professional standards in healthcare, strong organisational, communication and documentation skills, the ability to work independently while contributing to multidisciplinary teams and a commitment to women‑centred care and evidence‑based practice.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Current Midwifery Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated understanding of evidence informed practice and critical thinking.
  3. Demonstrated commitment to person centred care and NSW Health Core Values.
  4. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
  6. Evidence of computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.
  7. Experience and/or interest in pursuing further training in clinical research.
