We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
Launch your career in mental health with an exciting opportunity to gain broad clinical experience across a diverse range of settings. The Mental Health Social Work New Graduate Program is a structured 24-month full-time program designed to support newly qualified social workers as they develop their skills, confidence and professional practice within a multidisciplinary mental health service.
Throughout the program, graduates will complete two twelve-month rotations across inpatient and community mental health settings within the Local Health District. This unique rotational model provides valuable exposure to the full continuum of mental health care, enabling participants to develop a strong foundation in assessment, intervention, recovery-oriented practice and collaborative care.
During the inpatient rotation, graduates will work alongside experienced clinicians in acute mental health services, supporting consumers during periods of intensive treatment and recovery. In the community mental health rotation, graduates will gain experience working within community-based services and multidisciplinary teams, supporting consumers and their families to achieve their recovery goals and maintain wellbeing in the community.
This program offers a supportive learning environment, professional development opportunities, clinical supervision and mentorship from experienced social work practitioners. It is an ideal pathway for graduates seeking to build a rewarding and meaningful career in mental health while gaining experience across a variety of clinical settings and service models. Apply now!
