An exciting opportunity has become available to join the District Internal Audit Team. The Internal Auditor contributes to the strategic planning of the district's Internal Audit function. The successful incumbent will be a part of a dynamic team responsible for performing audits and investigations, identifying areas for improvement, cost saving opportunities, and providing recommendations to address risks.
This role involves provision of support by coordinating the department operations in compliance with the Internal Audit Charter and the Internal Audit Standards. Drawing on your extensive experience, you will play a vital role in planning, developing and managing projects.

What you will bring to the role:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in e.g., Auditing, Business Improvement, Economics, or Data Analytics, with membership to a relevant professional body preferred. (e.g. CIA, CA, CPA).
- Demonstrated extensive experience in auditing, investigations, business improvement or data analytics in an Australian Public Sector agency or a private organisation that conducts audits on an Australian Public Sector Agency. Experience working within the NSW Health Public Sector will be an added advantage
- Ability to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of systems and controls of operations and processes, including a demonstrated ability to solve problems by applying the theories and principles of auditing, accounting and fraud investigation in a complex public sector environment.
- Demonstrated ability to critically analyse and interpret legislation, policy, procedures, findings, and best practice to formulate value adding recommendations through clear and concise audit reports
- Demonstrated experience in delivering business value through improvement or cost saving opportunities and reporting of governance breaches.
- Demonstrated experience in utilising advanced data analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI, IDEA, ACL to digest large data sets to interpret data and identify anomalies and inefficiencies to drive value adding business improvement.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills working within a team and with an ability to independently motivate and negotiate positive outcomes with all levels of management.
- Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
