About Us

The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
An exciting opportunity to join the Getting on Track In Time (Got It!) Team within Mental health on a temporary full time basis. This position is a school-based early intervention program that supports children with their social and emotional wellbeing. The program works collaboratively with children, parents/carers and school staff and aims to prevent the development of behavioural concerns in children.

What you will bring to the role
- Recognised tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social work, Occupational therapy, with current registration with AHPRA (psychology/occupational therapy) or eligibility for membership of AASW.
- Significant post-graduate experience providing assessment and intervention to children and their families presenting with mental health needs using evidence based approaches.
- Demonstrated understanding of child development, and the effects of trauma on child mental health.
- Experience and skill in developing, delivering and evaluating group programs.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of key stakeholders.
- Availability to run evening groups during school term as required.
- Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
