Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. The service provides 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail orientated individual to join our Sterilising Services Department. This vital role ensures that all equipment used in ward areas and operating theatres is cleaned and sterilised to the highest standards, supporting safe and effective patient care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full sterilisation process of reusable medical and surgical devices, including cleaning, inspection, assembly, packing, and sterilisation. Quality management is a key component of the role, involving accurate record keeping and daily testing of machinery to maintain compliance and safety. The position also includes the collection and delivery of instruments to and from ward areas, contributing to the smooth operation of clinical services.

What you will bring to the role
- Completion of a Certificate III in Sterilisation at TAFE. with knowledge of AUS/NZ standards and infection control principles
- Demonstrated ability to work in a busy department whilst handling multiple priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment & independently
- Physically capable of carrying out all duties, including handling chemicals, biological hazards, standing for extended periods of time, lifting, pulling, and pushing loads
- Moderate computer skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide support to staff whilst learning new skills
