About the Service
Moree Maternity is a small, friendly rural maternity unit providing high-quality, woman-centred care. The service delivers all-risk antenatal care with specialist support from John Hunter Hospital Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) clinics, and low-risk birthing services supported by locum Obstetricians.

The unit has a strong team culture that is welcoming, collaborative and supportive, making it an excellent environment for learning and professional growth. Working in Moree offers the opportunity to provide meaningful care within a close-knit community while gaining valuable maternity experience in a rural setting.

About the Role

In this role, you will work alongside midwives to support the care of maternity inpatients and outpatients. Your work will involve assisting with antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, as well as caring for newborns. You will have opportunities to develop skills across labour ward, postnatal care and newborn care.

The maternity ward may occasionally care for non-maternity patients when the acute ward is at capacity, providing additional exposure to a broader range of clinical experiences.

You will be well supported in your transition to the unit, with supernumerary orientation days alongside experienced ward midwives and the Clinical Educator. Ongoing guidance is provided by the full-time Clinical Educator and the Maternity Unit Manager, with additional training tailored to your needs.
