Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. The service provides 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse/Midwife Educator to join our Paediatrics team on a part time basis. This role provides an excellent opportunity to support, educate, and inspire nursing and midwifery staff while contributing to high quality, family centred paediatric care within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

As a Clinical Nurse/Midwife Educator, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating education, training, and professional development for staff within the Paediatrics unit. You will work closely with clinical leaders to ensure evidence based practice, safe care delivery, and ongoing staff competency.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
  2. Relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications in Paediatrics, or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
  3. Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes that align with NSW Health's organisation's CORE values of; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment, when interacting with staff, patients, consumers, and carers.
  4. Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward/unit level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement and the maintenance of a learning environment that values and encourages learning and reflective practice.
  6. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, feedback and conflict resolution.
  7. Demonstrated ability to motivate, support and engage people in the clinical setting and work professionally in a multidisciplinary team
  8. Evidence of computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and record management systems.
