About the Role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.

  

This role will be based in the offices of the Nursing Administration and Resource Management Unit (NARMU) and supports the nurse managers in providing both staffing and logistical resources to the wards. The role involves communicating with key stake holders both internal and external to the organisation.

  

The role will provide timely and accurate administrative / transactional services to support staff under the direction of the nurse managers in NARMU. The role will work under broad supervision but will require some independent action. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the overall functioning and management of the unit remain the responsibility of the nurse manager.

  

This position will be working a rotating roster, Monday to Sunday. Shift times are as follows:

  • Morning, 07:00 - 15:30.
  • Afternoon, 12:00 - 20:30.
  • Weekend, 09:00 - 17:30.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in database management and HealthRoster would be preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills including accurate spelling, good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
  • Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment.
  • Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent.
