About the role

Be part of a team working on the implementation of the Medicines, Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 2022 (the Act) in NSW, and other policy and regulatory initiatives.
Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $129,464 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location- 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards.
This full-time temporary role is available until 31 March 2026.

What you'll be doing
- Undertake policy and program development, review and evaluation of projects for the Ministry of Health, and related government agencies, to address current and emerging issues in relation to medicine supply regulation
- Research, analyse and review complex policy issues, identifying emerging issues, developing evidence-based options, and recommended solutions to resolve problems and mitigate risks
- Prepare high quality written advice and documentation in the form of reports, briefs, policies, discussion papers, standing operating procedures, website material or circulars to inform, respond to requests, or initiate consideration of new policy initiatives.
- Provide advice and support to the Principal Policy Officer, senior executives, and staff across the NSW Health Service and the Ministry of Health to consistently interpret and apply policies and practices in relation to medicine supply regulation
- Liaise, communicate, and consult with key staff in public health organisations and stakeholder representative organisations to secure their engagement and ensure effective interface on policy and project development, planning and implementation.
- Explore and evaluate new policy approaches, including considering cost-benefit analyses and impact assessment, in order to provide sound strategic advice on their potential for application within NSW Health and achievement of Ministry and Government objectives.
