About the role 

This role sits within the Executive and Divisional Support Team in the Office of the Deputy Secretary, Population and Public Health & Chief Health Officer. 

 

As a Senior Policy & Project Officer, you will play a central role in driving divisional coordination, supporting executive decision-making and ensuring high-quality governance across the Division. 

 

You will work closely with the Associate Director and Principal Policy Officer to support management of priorities, deliver strategic initiatives, and respond to emerging issues in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys working across teams, and wants to contribute to divisional priorities and complex, system-wide policy and program delivery. 

 

Crown Clerk 9/10, Ongoing position, starting salary from $129,464 - $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location- 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards

What you'll be doing  

 

In this role, you will: 

  • Support the coordination of executive support and branch management activities, including business planning, reporting, correspondence and process improvement. Help drive the planning and delivery of strategic projects, ensuring milestones and outcomes are achieved. Provide high-quality advice and support timely responses to emerging and sensitive issues. 

  • Coordinate cross-divisional initiatives and ensure alignment of priorities across multiple stakeholders. 

  • Build strong relationships through effective communication, negotiation and collaboration. 

  • Prepare compelling, high-quality briefs, reports, correspondence and Cabinet documents to inform or respond to agency or Government requests. 

  • Monitor and evaluate project performance, managing risks and ensuring delivery of intended benefits.
