About this role

You'll be joining the largest public health system in Australia and contribute to a world-class health system in NSW.

The Strategic Reform and Planning Branch (SRPB) supports and enables strategic reform, planning, economics, and evaluation to deliver a future-focused health system for NSW and inform investment and resource allocation. We achieve this by being innovative, trusted, and experts in our subject matter.

Our key functions

  • To lead and support the process of service planning and investment for the future.
  • Facilitate specialty services and new technology planning and evaluation.
  • Provide tools to guide the system in strategic analysis and evaluation.
  • Develop strategic policies that support improved outcomes for our consumers and the system.
  • Support the NSW Health system to be a leader in the delivery of value based health care.

 

The Speciality Services and Technology Evaluation Unit (SSTEU) provides statewide leadership in the implementation of new technologies and strategic governance for services that are complex to deliver safely and effectively, have a cost of significance to the NSW Health system. Our role also includes guiding the appropriate adoption and use of new health technologies, genomics and precision medicine into clinical practice.

Crown Clerk 9/10, salary from $129,464 - $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading.

What you'll be doing

The Senior Planning and Policy Officer supports the coordination, strategic governance and provides advice surrounding specialised services and genomics in NSW. The Senior Planning and Policy Officer supports and provides advice on the monitoring, research and evaluation aspects of genomics and specialised services, as well as providing project management for the implementation of new services.

  • Analysing evidence, data and stakeholder views to provide strategic advice to senior decision makers.
  • Proactively identifying and effectively managing stakeholder risks and communications.
  • Scoping, planning and managing the delivery of the agreed program of work within required timeframe.
  • Building and maintaining strong and effective working relationships with stakeholders and local health districts, and national partners.


About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

 

  • Strong organisational skills and capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and to deliver high quality products within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Experience in managing change and communications with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and translate complex and technical information accurately and effectively with diverse stakeholders, to achieve outcomes.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • A growth mindset, and commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
  • The ability to work in a small dynamic team environment.
