The NSW Ministry of Health’s Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence is pleased to announce a temporary opportunity to join the Health Indicators and Digital Communications team as a Senior Biostatistician.
The role will support the design, curation, interpretation, quality control, visualisation and effective communication of health indicators and statistical information published on HealthStats NSW and online web reports.
Full time, temporary until 19 March 2027
Clerk Grade 9/10
35 hour working week, in a hybrid working environment with a minimum of 3 days per week working from the NSW Health office, St Leonards
Essential requirements
Tertiary qualification in epidemiology, biostatistics or equivalent
Sound knowledge of health data and the NSW (or Australian) health system
Experience in the use of data management and statistical analysis software, including proficiency in R or similar programming languages. Demonstrated capability to learn new tools / software
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Demonstrated capability in digital communication, including effectively presenting insights and information through digital platforms, reporting tools, and data visualisations
High level knowledge of analytical concepts and methods, substantial experience in the use of the associated statistical, data management, and knowledge of databases and software quality principles
