About this role

  • Providing information and advice and liaising, consulting and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prioritising and managing one’s own workload within agreed work and project plans.
  • Preparing high quality written advice in the form of reports, briefs, policy etc. to respond to internal and external requests to the Ministry of Health in a timely manner
  • Working with diverse stakeholders to drive system change and the delivery of culturally safe health care and service delivery access for Aboriginal people in NSW.
  • Collating and analysing data using Excel


Crown Clerk Grade 7/8, starting salary from $106,025 - $117,363 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing

  • You will work in a small high-performing team to lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the NSW Aboriginal Health Impact Statement.
  • You will work with the team to manage major state-wide strategic projects to transform Aboriginal Health outcomes.
  • You will work from a strengths-based approach to deliver best-practice policies, projects and activities that contribute towards transforming Aboriginal Health outcomes in line with the Closing the Gap National Agreement priority reform areas.
  • You will use your skills and knowledge to add to our System Reform and Support Team in the Centre for Aboriginal Health, to address Aboriginal Health priority areas across NSW Health.


About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of the work of the Centre for Aboriginal Health, the policy environment and the Aboriginal health priority areas at state and national levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding Aboriginal social, political, and cultural issues and applying such knowledge to the design and delivery of policies and strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
