About this role

The Program Manager, Official Visitors Program manages the Official Visitors Program under the NSW Mental Health Act (2007) with the Principal Official Visitor. The role provides strategic leadership, is responsible for the business and human resource functions and ensures compliance with public sector accountabilities and relevant NSW Health policy directives.

Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $149,739 – $173,174 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide leadership and strategic policy advice to the Official Visitors Program in collaboration with the Principal Official Visitor.
  • Manage the human resources functions of the Official Visitors Program including recruitment, on-boarding, appraisals, development and workplace learning of Official Visitors and the Program’s administrative team – including coaching, best-practice policy advice, direction and just-in-time interventions to the Official Visitors as they carry out their responsibilities under the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
  • Manage the administrative and business requirements of the Official Visitors Program including financial tracking and reporting.
  • Monitor, develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and Program realignment to changing and emerging mental health policy and practices by collating, analysing and evaluating data outcomes of the Program, and ensure data collection is aligned with policies, practices and emerging issues.


About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Extensive experience in program development, implementation and evaluation
  • Experience that demonstrates a thorough understanding of contemporary mental health policy, research, advocacy and service delivery
  • Experience in Human Resource functions and financial management
