Role Title:  Professional Officer, NMC

•    Conveniently located in Haymarket close to public transport 
•    Employment type: full-time permanent role

About this role

The Professional Officer, NMC provides professional advice and expertise to assist the Council in its regulatory activities under the Health Practitioner National Law (NSW)(the Law) 
The Professional Officer, NMC actively promotes the role of the Nursing Midwifery Council, leads continuous improvement initiatives in relation to effectiveness of one or more council programs, and contributes to ongoing development of professional frameworks to address emerging trends in regulation.

Nurse Manager Grade 5 from $155,142.54 - $157,772.34 plus Super and annual leave loading

About you 

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with:

•    Current Australian registration as a nurse (Division 1) and/or midwife and appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience and training with up to date knowledge of current clinical practice standards and excellent understanding of contemporary ethical standards 
•    Thorough knowledge of the legislative and regulatory framework for health professions in Australia including the statutory responsibilities and functions of the Nursing and Midwifery Council 
•    Experience in managing mental health/ drug use, and/ or managing disciplinary or performance matters within a health organisation
