Our Executive and Ministerial Services Branch at Ministry of Health currently seeking a highly motivated Manager Service Capability and Performance to join our Branch in an ongoing (permanent) opportunity to be part of the team enriching health in millions of ways every day. About this role
The Manager Service Capability and Performance is a key member of the Executive and Ministerial Branch working across the Branch and with NSW Health stakeholders to drive improvements in service delivery to Health Ministers. The focus of this role is on leading initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes for all Ministerial products.  The role identifies areas for improvement, developing and implementing solutions. The role also oversights capacity building initiatives to enable improved quality and timeliness outcomes across NSW Health.  

Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $149,739 - $173,174 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing 

  • Lead the uplift in government business related capability across NSW Health through the development and deployment of guidelines, training and templates for efficient and effective government processes.
  • Influence design and champion the implementation of new systems and processes to ensure consistent standards of practice 
  • Lead the consolidation, improvement and streamlining of technology systems used across Executive and Ministerial Services, creating a unified, efficient platform that enhances collaboration, reduces manual handling. 
  • Leads efficiency and business process improvement through the development and deployment of business approaches that support work of Executive and Ministerial Services activities across Health. Exploring and utilising AI and data to drive process and performance improvement. 
  • Foster a client-focused mindset across the branch to anticipate stakeholder needs and deliver solutions that reduce the burden on client divisions 
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance measures and protocols to ensure high standards of content and processes are met in a high stake environment characterised by demanding deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to critically assess practices for addressing government business issues and identify opportunities to enhance processes and procedures, in line with the Executive and Ministerial Services’ commitment to continuous improvement.


About you

  • Influence and Stakeholder Engagement: Proven experience building strong relationships and negotiating with senior executives, internal teams, and external stakeholders to achieve consensus and service improvements.
  • Leadership and People Management: Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams. Ability to define roles and responsibilities, set clear performance expectations, and manage individual and team outcomes while fostering a positive and inclusive team culture
  • Project Management: Strong capability in planning, coordinating, and delivering multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving: Skilled in gathering, interpreting, and applying data and insights to inform service improvements
  • Customer-Focused Approach: Committed to designing and delivering high-quality, user-centric process and products that meet stakeholder needs.
