Role Title: Financial Accountant (Grade 7/8) (REQ656725)

•    Employment type: Full-time, fixed term up to 12 February 2026 
•    35 hour working week

About this role

The Financial Accountant provides financial accounting advice and develops, implements and maintains financial processes and systems. The role is also required to implement and comply with accounting standards and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of monthly and statutory financial statements for the Councils. 
In this key role the incumbent will be responsible for providing direct support to the Manager, Financial Accounting. The position is also responsible for ensuring control in the treatment of all accounting processes.

About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with:

•    Relevant tertiary qualification and eligibility or near eligibility for membership of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand 
•    Experience and understanding of financial accounting functions and application of accounting standards 
•    Experience in preparing month end and year-end financial statements, preferably in a multi-entity environment with cost allocations and in managing an outsourced service provider.

The Health Professional Councils Authority (HPCA) is an executive agency of the NSW Ministry of Health.  We play an important role in protecting the health and safety of the public by supporting the 15 NSW Health Professional Councils in managing complaints about NSW health practitioners.
