The Office for Health and Medical Research is seeking an experienced and talented Executive Officer to lead planning on key strategic and operational matters.
In this dynamic role, you’ll work closely with the Executive Director, Deputy Secretary, Ministers’ offices, senior executives, and key stakeholders to navigate complex challenges and influence meaningful outcomes.

What you'll be doing
This role will provide high-level executive, secretariat and project management support to the Executive Director, Office for Health and Medical Research, to support and harness health and medical research innovation in NSW. As the central point of contact for the Executive, you will:
- implement , monitor and report on strategic and operational projects to inform decision making and support achievement of organisational objectives
- develop succinct and compelling briefs on research topics and initiatives, bringing together complex information from various sources to inform decision making and strategic developments
- develop and oversee the implementation and evaluation of administrative practices, systems and procedures to optimise efficiency and support the achievement of quality outcomes
- engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather advice and data to assist in the preparation of high-quality written advice in various forms.
About you
We are seeking a motivated, self-starter who is:
- a critical thinker, with experience in making objective, analysis-backed decisions and recommendations
- an excellent communicator that can distil complex and technical information
- experienced in applying effective planning, coordination and governance to managing projects
- proactive, calm and collaborative in working through challenges and improving outcomes
- ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
