We are excited to welcome an experienced Communications Officer to join our dynamic and results-driven team. You will play a crucial role in delivering communication campaigns and events coordination to support an inclusive approach to communications. This role also helps support the development of accessible communications, including for Aboriginal communities, people with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, people with low levels of English literacy, and those who are neurodiverse. This includes managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and developing resources and packs, and coordinating meetings and events.


Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from $106,025 - $117,363 (plus Super and annual leave loading), with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing

As a dedicated Communications Officer, you will:

  • Support the delivery of accessible content (including researching, writing and editing) through the use of policy, guidelines, and toolkits.
  • Draft communication materials for different channels and audiences, and facilitate approvals of content, creative, messaging and videos.
  • Deliver well-organised and coordinated support for stakeholder engagement activities, including VIP visitors, international delegations and communities of practice.
  • Draft and develop strategic communication plans and content to raise awareness and promote events. 
  • Engage stakeholders across NSW Health and All of NSW Government to leverage channel opportunities for accessible health messaging.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to ensure project deliverables are met.

 

About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

  • Copywriting and events delivery experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, organisations and communities.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Communications or similar and demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • This is an identified role under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1997 and as such Aboriginality is an essential requirement of the role.
