The Administrative Support Officer provides administrative, customer and office services in order to maintain high quality administrative support and contribute to the efficient and effective functioning of the Official Visitors Program (OVP).
The OVP is an independent oversight body established under the Mental Health Act 2007. Official Visitors are appointed by the NSW Minister for Mental Health and are independent from NSW Health. They are individuals with experience in mental health treatment and care, consumer advocacy and lived experience with its primary purpose being to ensure that mental health treatment and care are provided in a humane and dignified manner.
Crown Clerk 3/4, starting salary from $84,659 - $92,701 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing
- Undertake the administrative support of the Official Visitor workforce and OVP through responding to Official Visitor queries, processing their claims for payment/invoices, input data from reports, address errors and provide system support to users.
- Provide information to consumers, carers, families and NSW Health staff by responding to correspondence.
- Coordinate the Official Visitors Phoneline, including liaising with Wayahead, Official Visitors, and internal teams to ensure calls are addressed effectively.
- Support the organisation of meetings and events as requested, including administrative and logistical support to the Principal Official Visitor.
- Organise and monitor travel bookings for Official Visitors and undertake a diverse range of clerical support functions necessary for the smooth operation of the OVP.
- Assist in the coordination of purchasing and accounting functions for the OVP in compliance with the relevant NSW Health guidelines and procedures.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- The ability to work in a small dynamic team environment.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to respond professionally to enquiries from consumers, carers, staff and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of NSW Health financial processes.
- Knowledge of NSW Local Health Districts would be an advantage.
