Employment with Mid North Coast LHD requires candidates to hold a valid authority to work in Australia (Aust Work Rights Visa). 

About the Role

This role is responsible for the effective management and coordination of hospitals delivering a broad range of healthcare services, including specialised and multi-site operations, or for providing critical support services to large, complex hospital networks.  It encompasses leadership across key functional areas such as human resources, financial management, administration, and clinical services within tertiary teaching hospitals and health services.

The position plays a central role in ensuring organisational objectives are achieved by maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders and aligning operations with the corporate goals and priorities of the Mid North Coast Local Health District. It contributes to the development and execution of strategic and business plans, with accountability for monitoring performance and delivering on expected outcomes.

The role requires sound judgement and may include delegated authority to approve changes to standards, policies, practices, and procedures. Success in this position depends on highly developed negotiation and delegation skills, alongside the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.  A strong commitment to patient safety and quality care underpins all responsibilities, with active participation in quality improvement programs and the promotion of a culture that prioritises clinical excellence, innovation, and the best possible health outcomes for patients and clients.

This is a Full-time Temporary role based in Macksville.

About You

You bring a strong combination of relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience within large, complex service environments, enabling me to navigate and contribute effectively in diverse organisational settings and your background reflects a balance of formal study and practical expertise, equipping me with a well-rounded understanding of operational and strategic requirements.

You are a confident and capable leader with highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to consult, negotiate, and delegate effectively across a wide range of stakeholders and you pride yourself on fostering collaborative relationships and leading teams to achieve shared goals.

Your strengths include exceptional organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, allowing you to manage competing priorities while consistently delivering high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes.  You are also experienced in managing conflict with professionalism and sensitivity, ensuring positive and constructive resolutions.

In addition, you possess advanced computer skills across a range of software applications, including word processing, data management systems, and spreadsheets, which support efficient and informed decision-making and hold a current driver’s licence and are flexible to travel as required to meet the demands of the role.
