What you'll be doing
Reporting lines to the Coffs Clinical Network (CCN) Director of Medical Services (DMS), and/or the Network Director for Emergency Medicine.
The GP VMO for BRDH will provide a comprehensive service and clinical care to patients within Bellinger River District Hospital (BRDH).
The GP VMO will provide supervision and educational support for rotation of Medical Students.
The GP VMO can request clinical privileges at Bellinger River District Hospital (BRDH) for provision of the following services:
- Emergency Department sessional rostering
- GP Anaesthetics opportunity
- Accepting medical officer for Inpatient care to General Medical beds
- BOTH Emergency Department and Inpatient services
The GP VMO will be responsible and accountable under the Deteriorating Patient Safety Net System for the Recognition, Response to, and appropriate Management of deterioration of patients within the facility;
Attending Urgent inpatient issue/reviews including (Medical Emergency Team) MET calls, and other non-urgent procedures in a timely fashion;
Attending other duties as per the Position Description, or at the request of the CCN DMS, or the BRDH Executive Officer/DON.
This is a Category A position. Recommended applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directive for Category A positions prior to offer.
