About You
Must hold a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and current practicing certificate to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or working towards endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner with the ability to complete all requirements within 2 years. Can demonstrate comprehensive skills in clinical assessment including physical, Drug and Alcohol, social, ethnic and cultural dimensions. Have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with proven ability to use appropriate teaching/learning strategies to educate and support others within the specialty drug and alcohol and the profession.
What you'll be doing
Using innovative, evidence-based skills and interventions, you will professionally support individuals seeking assistance with alcohol and drug use. You will take a trauma-informed approach and provide respectful, person-centred care, tailored to each individual’s needs. Central to your role will be employing an individualised, holistic approach to care, incorporating comprehensive care planning to address the diverse physical, emotional, and social aspects of each person’s journey.
To manage care across a variety of health systems to maximize outcomes - engaging in complex and critical thinking; integrating information and/or evidence; judiciously use clinical investigations; skillfully and empathetically communicating with all involved in the care episode, including the person receiving care and their family and community, and health professional colleagues.
To engage in practice as guided by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Nurse Practitioner Standards Framework.
