Come join our friendly sexual health team to help deliver the PEACH Project (Preventing and Eliminating Anal Cancer in people living with HIV) based at Tweed Valley Sexual Health Service, located in the Health Hub at Tweed Valley Hospital. The PEACH Project is funded by the Cancer Institute NSW. Anal cancer screening involves a combination of anal swabs (for HPV and cytology) and high-resolution anoscopy (HRA), which will be conducted on-site. This RN role will support both the research components of the PEACH Project and associated clinical service delivery. Prior sexual health or research experience is welcome but not essential. Training will be provided.

About the role

This is a 0.5 FTE role suited to a Registered Nurse who enjoys variety, is organised, and values warm, patient-centred care. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary sexual health team supporting a project with real-world impact, helping strengthen access to evidence-based screening and follow-up care for people living with HIV.

What you’ll be doing

·        Support participant recruitment and study visits, including appointment coordination, follow-up and continuity of care.

·        Assist with participant-facing processes such as education, consent discussions (as delegated), questionnaires, and ensuring a culturally safe and respectful experience.

·        Assist with clinical components of the screening pathway, including anal swabs for HPV and cytology (within scope and delegation).

·        Assist Staff Specialists during high-resolution anoscopy (HRA) clinics, including room and equipment preparation, patient support during procedures, documentation, and follow-up planning (training will be provided).

·        Maintain high-quality documentation and contribute to accurate data capture and study administration (including keeping study records organised and audit-ready).

·        Work closely with senior clinicians and nursing staff to ensure the PEACH Project runs smoothly within day-to-day clinic operations.

Support & reporting

You will report to the Nurse Manager Grade 3 (Sexual Health & Viral Hepatitis) and the Medical Director of HIV & Sexual Health, and will be supported on-site by senior nursing staff and senior medical staff, including training in research processes and the PEACH clinical protocol and processes.

What we’re looking for

We’re keen to hear from nurses who bring:

·        Current registration as a Registered Nurse.

·        Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

·        A professional, non-judgemental, patient-centred approach, with the ability to build rapport in a sensitive clinical setting.

·        Confidence working within a team and willingness to learn new skills.

Previous experience in sexual health and/or research is welcome but not essential. We are looking for the right person, and we’ll support you to build the project-specific and clinic-specific skills you need.
