What you'll be doing
The role works in close partnership with the Medical Officers, NUMS and Clinical Leads in the Coffs Harbour, Kempsey and Port Macquarie HITH Services. The role also has key relationships with Medical Officers across the 3 services, Nurse Unit Managers and Key Stakeholders including primary care, Patient Flow Managers, Discharge Planners, Emergency Departments and other collaborative services including Mid North Coast Virtual Care and Aged Care Outreach Service.
This role has a key responsibility to guide the future direction of the HITH service, in line with Ministry of Health Policy Directive, Guidelines and Key Performance Indicators. This includes guiding and offering clinical expertise in the design, implementation, and delivery of innovative Hospital in the Home Services.
The position leads service development, innovation, clinical practice improvement, quality and safety initiatives, and supports the professional development of medical and clinical services. The Clinical Director will collaborate with LHD and external clinicians to plan, develop, and implement integrated HITH Services.
This is a Category A position. Recommended applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directive for Category A positions prior to offer.

Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s. These awards are available at https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/careers/conditions/pages/default.aspx.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of a recognised Australasian Specialist College in a relevant field.
- Demonstrates effective clinical expertise and leadership in an area of practice relevant to Hospital in the Home Service, with ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership and workforce management experience in a complex public health organisation.
- Proven capability to develop and implement complex strategic initiatives including the capability to plan, manage change and improve performance based on service redesign and service implementation methodologies.
- Superior interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships, to network and engage, collaborate with and influence key stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical governance quality and compliance processes, and in leading or conducting research, innovation, service redesign or quality improvement initiatives.
- Comprehensive understanding of medical training accreditation processes, and proven experience in the development, growth and delivery of interprofessional education and training.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence and ability to travel as required.
