What you'll be doing

As a highly experienced senior dental practitioner the Dental Officer Level 4 role has a clinical focus and is responsible for providing high quality general dental work, clinically manage patients with advanced and complex dental needs, and perform all dental procedures within scope of practice.
 
This role also has a delegated responsibility with the District School Mobile Dental Program (SMDP) to manage and direct the clinical service provision and support the staff of this program.
 
Additionally, the role has a district responsibility to provide clinical education and mentoring of students in an area of expertise under delegation and direction of the Clinical Director.


About you, do you have?

  1. Dental qualification eligible for full registration as a Dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Dental Board of NSW. Additional qualifications/experience in dental services under general anaesthesia highly regarded.
  2. Demonstrated advanced understanding of current concepts in the clinical setting.
  3. Demonstrated high level clinical governance and advanced clinical reasoning skills with independent professional judgement in managing difficult clinical situations, complex medical histories and patients with disabilities.
  4. Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills, negotiation, communication and liaison skills. As well as demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision, educate and mentor junior clinical staff and students.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in dentistry.
