About the Role
This role is responsible for the provision and facilitation of high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health services to service users and their families within the Community Mental Health Service (MHS). The position coordinates and supervises the delivery of care for adults experiencing acute and chronic mental health issues, as well as complex psychosocial challenges. A key focus of the role is to ensure that consumers receive timely, person-centred support through comprehensive assessment, review, treatment, care planning, and seamless transitions across the care continuum.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, the role provides discipline-specific expertise and partners closely with the Psychiatrist to maintain the highest clinical standards. A strong commitment to continuous professional development, patient safety, and ongoing quality improvement underpins all aspects of the position, contributing to a culture of clinical excellence, innovation, and the best possible outcomes for consumers and their families.
About You
You are a dedicated and highly skilled mental health professional with current registration relevant to your discipline—whether through the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, the Australian Association of Social Workers, the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, or the Psychology Board of Australia. Your strong educational foundation is complemented by substantial clinical experience, enabling you to confidently deliver high-quality, person-centred mental health care.
You bring proven leadership capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and guide others to reach their full potential. Whether supporting new graduates, students, or less experienced colleagues, you provide valuable clinical advice, act as a reliable preceptor, and foster a positive, adaptive learning environment within a multidisciplinary team.
With extensive experience working alongside consumers and carers experiencing moderate to severe mental health challenges, you approach care with empathy, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to recovery-focused practice. Your advanced reasoning skills and ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively enable you to contribute effectively to team-based decision-making, service delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives.
