Employment with Mid North Coast LHD requires candidates to hold a valid authority to work in Australia (Aust Work Rights Visa). 

What you'll be doing
To provide advanced and complex patient care within their area of specialty Geriatrics that reflect current standards of nursing practices and Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures.   

About You
 You present yourself as a highly capable nursing professional who brings advanced clinical judgement, strong leadership and a deep commitment to delivering safe, person‑centred care. You hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, supported by relevant post‑registration qualifications or active enrolment in further postgraduate study. With more than three years of experience in your specialised clinical area, you operate confidently in acute care settings, particularly in the complex management of older people, where your expertise supports thorough assessment, informed decision‑making and consistently high‑quality outcomes.

You demonstrate professional knowledge that extends beyond routine practice, applying advanced skills in managing multifaceted care needs and contributing to the development of specialised clinical practice. Your leadership is evident in the way you strengthen service delivery, refine clinical processes and support improved patient outcomes. You approach challenges with a strategic, evidence‑based mindset, identifying opportunities for enhancement and guiding initiatives that elevate the standard of care.

You work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accountability for your own practice while contributing constructively to shared goals. Your communication is clear, respectful and clinically focused, supported by confident use of information technology and strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. You engage with patients, families and colleagues in a way that builds trust, supports collaboration and ensures continuity of care.

You bring a genuine commitment to developing others, mentoring and coaching nursing staff with guidance that is practical, supportive and grounded in contemporary evidence. You recognise the importance of professional growth and contribute to a learning‑focused environment by modelling best practice and offering structured, thoughtful support.

You show initiative in leading activities that improve service delivery and strengthen patient outcomes, demonstrating a proactive approach to quality improvement and a willingness to step forward when leadership is required. Your ability to analyse clinical needs, anticipate risks and implement effective strategies reflects both maturity and sound professional judgement.

You maintain a current NSW driver’s licence and demonstrate the flexibility and willingness to travel for work purposes, reinforcing your reliability and commitment to meeting service needs across different settings. You carry yourself with professionalism, consistency and a clear dedication to delivering care that is safe, compassionate and aligned with the highest standards of nursing practice.
