About the Role
This position is responsible for the provision of viral hepatitis and liver disease prevention and management in accordance with relevant Mid North Coast Local Health District, NSW Ministry of Health Policies and Procedures and State and National Plans.
Provide expert clinical services and advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals on health issues related to viral hepatitis and liver disease and develop and contribute to specialised education resources for client/carer/community to be utilised by other health care professionals including participation in formal and informal education programs, MDT case presentations and coordination of linkages with tertiary centres.
Make decisions and recommendations in accordance with NSW Policies, guidelines, procedures, legislation and as determined by NSW Ministry of Health, MNCLHD, and also in conjunction with relevant governing bodies related to the research, management, and treatment of HCC and Advanced Liver Disease.
About You
You will need a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and post graduate qualifications with at least 3 years’ experience in viral hepatitis or hepatology. Demonstrated understanding of issues related to viral hepatitis, liver disease and HCC and related prevention and clinical care strategies and relevant health and support services along with demonstrated ability to work independently and also to work collaboratively with clients, carers, the multidisciplinary team and services across the continuum.
High level communication skills and proven ability to implement change and practice development across a multidisciplinary team using current evidence and research as well as proven high level of organisational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet competing demands and KPI’s.
