About the Opportunity

As the Volunteer Coordinator – Palliative Care you will play a key role in building and supporting a compassionate volunteer workforce across the District. You will coordinate volunteers who provide emotional, social and practical support to people with life-limiting illness and their families, helping enhance care and strengthen community connections.

 

As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will:

  • Recruit, onboard and coordinate palliative care volunteers across MLHD
  • Support volunteers through orientation, training and ongoing guidance
  • Manage volunteer rostering and allocation across services
  • Foster strong relationships with patients, families, staff and volunteers
  • Provide education and peer support opportunities for volunteers
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and safe work practices
  • Contribute to research, evaluation and continuous improvement activities

About You

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience coordinating volunteers, programs or services (healthcare/community desirable)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence working in a sensitive environment with empathy and professionalism
  • Ability to support, motivate and engage volunteers
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
