About the Opportunity
In this pivotal leadership role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Shape the strategic direction of clinical trials across MLHD and the Southern Cluster.
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, accessible clinical trials.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to expand research capacity in rural and regional NSW.
- Promote equity in clinical trial access and professionalise the research workforce.
- Represent MLHD and the Southern Cluster in key forums and initiatives.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds current AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner.
- Is eligible for appointment as a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist.
- Demonstrates strong leadership and strategic planning experience in a public health setting.
- Has a proven track record in clinical trial governance and operations, particularly in rural or regional contexts.
- Values collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.
- Holds a current NSW Class C driver’s licence and is willing to travel.

Selection Criteria
- Substantial experience and achievements in leadership and strategic planning in a public health setting (provide detailed response).
- Extensive experience and wide range of skills from working with diverse groups at different levels in various organizations and environments to achieve common goals (provide detailed response).
- Experience in governance, planning, and conduct of clinical trials in rural, regional and remote areas in accordance with relevant Australian and NSW legal, ethical, and regulatory guidelines (provide detailed response).
