About the role

The Senior PMO Project Officer plays a key role in driving the successful progression of the NewGen Matrix project, delivering end to end project management support to enhance patient experience across NSW Health. The role will lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives, stakeholder engagement and change management activities that inform the identification, design and implementation of project strategies.


Working closely with the Senior PMO Manager and the Functional and Technical Stream Managers, the Senior PMO Project Officer will lead executive level reporting, briefing and ministerial correspondence. The position is also responsible for monitoring financial reports and general ledger transactions to identify and escalate financial risks, as well as supporting the monthly tracking and reporting of Program benefits and outcomes.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the Program Management Office, including process improvement initiatives, stakeholder engagement and change management activities
  • Manage program and executive level reporting including reporting and managing risks and issues.
  • Monitor and track progress of project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with major stakeholders
  • Monitor project specific financial reports and general ledger transactions to report on financial risks and issues
  • Assist in change management through the monitoring and reporting of Program benefits and outcomes achieved monthly.


About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Proven experience delivering complex projects on time, on budget and to agreed quality standards.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, resource coordination, budgeting and risk/issue management.
  • Advanced analytical capability to interpret complex information and provide practical, solution‑focused insights.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, multitask and maintain a customer‑focused approach in high‑volume environments.
  • Strong written communication skills, including high quality ministerial and brief writing, editing and proofing to support effective executive reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder and leadership skills, including influencing, coaching and supporting teams to drive performance and effective change.
  • Proven experience working in NSW Health, with broad exposure across functions, stakeholders and operational environments.
